How do I book a place?

If you think a Self Management Programme might be able to help and support you, the next step is to book your place. Currently there are places available on the following courses from October to December 2019 (subject to change).

Self Management Course Dates October-December 2019

More information

There are currently two Self Management Programmes to choose from:

Expert Patients Programme (EPP) – a six week course for adults living with long-term health conditions. Some courses are specific to those with depression and anxiety or cancer.

Dementia Looking After Me (DLAM) – a seven week course for carers looking after someone with dementia. It looks at supporting carers to think about their own health and wellbeing.

“I had a letter asking me to go on a course in Sedgley, what impressed me from day one was the distraction method. I couldn’t believe what was happening to me. I’ve got a little workshop at the back of the house where I make things on a wood lathe, and I found that when I was working in there it took my mind off everything and I got no pain. The course helped me to see how I could use the things I love to manage my health.” (EPP participant)

“It was great to know I could help control my diabetes myself. It’s just about ‘getting the balance right’ and that’s easy to do when someone explains it to you in a simple way and gives you real ways of managing, that will stay with you long after the 6 weeks is over” (DSMP participant)
