COVID19 Update

The Park Active sessions are re-starting from the 24th April 2021. In order to comply with current government guidance around social distancing to slow the spread of Covid19 and protect our vulnerable communities we are keeping the groups to 30 and participants must book onto sessions through Eventbrite for test and trace purposes before they arrive on the park.

Let’s get active in our local parks. FREE weekly outdoor fitness sessions for groups of all abilities.

Qualified instructors take the group through a 45-minute outdoor activity session. Everyone is able to work at their own level and enjoy the benefits of exercising outdoors. These circuit-based sessions are family-friendly, fun and suit all ages and abilities. As the sessions are outdoors they are subject to weather conditions, sessions may be cancelled in inclement weather.

The Park Active project is also recruiting and training volunteers to deliver the weekly outdoor community workouts.

Extending the offer from our existing four healthy hub sites, Park Active volunteers deliver weekly sessions at the parks below:

At Stevens Park, Wollescote on Saturdays

9:45 to 10:30 am

At Grange Park, Dudley on Sundays

10:00 to 10:45 am

(Meet at the bandstand)

At Stevens Park, Quarry Bank on Mondays

Starting Monday 1st November 2021

At The Dell Stadium, Brierley Hill on Sundays

11:00 to 11:45 am

At Buffery Park (Kates Hill) and Abbey Street Rec (Gornal) on Saturdays

Both paused, to be reviewed

No additional equipment is required, just turn up in suitable clothing and footwear and bring hand sanitiser and a drink.

Due to COVID test and trace procedures you must now book in advance to coming to Park Active sessions. You will need to let the volunteers know of any health conditions you have that might affect how you take part in the session.

The outdoor gyms are now open, however it is recommended that you take your own hand sanitiser/cleaning wipes.
