The Park Active project is now recruiting and training volunteers to deliver free weekly Outdoor Community Workouts in 4 parks across the Dudley borough.

They take place at Stevens Park in Wollescote, Buffery Park in Kates Hill, Stevens Park in Quarry Bank and Grange Park in Dudley. You can find a full programme of the sessions at Park Active.

The project is supported by the Local Friends of Parks groups and Dudley

Opportunity description

Do you have an interest in fitness and love the outdoors? Do you want to increase people’s health and happiness? Do you want to gain some experience in delivering fitness sessions in your local park to increase your skills?

You don’t need to be a sporting superstar or fitness guru, we’re looking for people who are enthusiastic, good communicators and willing to run or support activity sessions.

As a volunteer with Park Active you can receive the following:

  • opportunities to access free training opportunities (including first aid, safeguarding & fitness qualifications)
  • free badged kit for Park Active volunteers
  • opportunity to make friends and have fun

We are currently recruiting:

Park Active Volunteer Role

You will lead on delivering free community workouts in parks. You will need to undertake two days’ of fitness training and emergency first aid. You will be supported by an experienced volunteer as you develop your skills and confidence. Sessions are 45 minutes long and we expect our volunteers to commit to delivering or supporting at least one session a month. Plus, if you would like some experience in promotion we are happy to support you to do this.

You will be eligible for a reference once you have completed 35 hours of volunteering.
