Thoughtful Thursday

Winter can be tough on our emotional health. This year we are fighting back with Thoughtful Thursday.

Thoughtful Thursday

In life it’s normal to have some miserable days. Everyone experiences low moods from time to time. It could be down to several reasons including a distressing event, life changes, or for no obvious reason. These periods of feeling low often pass after a couple of days, but there are things we can do to feel better sooner.

 Five steps to wellbeing

  • Connect with other people. Good relationships are important for our mental wellbeing.
  • Be physically active. Being active is not only great for your physical health, but also helps improve our mental health.
  • Learn new skills. Learning something can boost our confidence and give us a sense of achievement.
  • Give to others. Helps us to connect to others and creates a positive feeling of purpose and self-worth.
  • Paying attention to the present moment (mindfulness)
