Ever fancied trying out rowing? If so, we’re pleased to say that you can as Dudley now has it’s own rowing club.
Who can take part?
Whether a complete beginner or someone with previous experience, anyone aged 11 or over is welcome to come and try their hand at this fun, social activity under the supervision of a qualified coach. The club also has a number of participants with disabilities so it really does provide something for all. Rowing is also a great sport to do as a family, as you can share a boat or race against each other!
What can I do?
There are opportunities for training using indoor rowing machines, as well as getting on the water in either a single, double or four man boat. Whether you want to get fitter, improve your skills and compete or just enjoy a nice social bit of recreation, Dudley Rowing Club can help you.
Through the year we also deliver learn to row courses for beginners. These courses consist of 4 sessions where a group of participants are given an introduction into the sport of rowing.
What equipment do I need?
None, other than turning up in suitable clothing. The boats, blades, safety jackets and indoor rowing machines are all provided by the club.
When are the sessions?
The club sessions on the water take place at the following times;
- Sundays: 12:00 – 16:00
- Tuesdays: 18:00 – 19:30 (April to September only)
- Thursdays: 10.00 – 12:00 (Coffee row session)
