1. Wash the rice under cold running water until the
water runs clear.
2. Place the rice in a saucepan and add the water. Add
salt if using.
3. Bring to the boil and cook for 4-6 minutes until the
rice grains are just tender.
4. Cover and turn the heat to its lowest setting and cook
for a further 5-7 minutes.
5. Do not lift the lid or stir.
6. Turn off the heat and leave to steam for 10 minutes.
7. Fluff up the rice and serve.
