Breastfeeding your baby can be the most wonderful thing in the world but can also be difficult at times and in Dudley there is some amazing help and support available for you.

Dudley Community Breastfeeding Support Workers are available for home visits, virtual video support and telephone support. Contact them by calling 01384 244358 or 01384 456111 ext.38878 or bleep 5050. They are part of the Dudley Infant Feeding Team at Russells Hall hospital and along with your midwifery team, they are committed to supporting families to nurture their babies.

If you haven’t already signed up to the free text service Flo speak to your midwife. Flo will send you texts up to 6 weeks after your baby is born with useful tips and information, such as first feeds, what to expect in a nappy, expressing and lots more. Introducing Solid Food

When your little one reaches 6 months you can start introducing solid foods, as well as carrying on giving breast milk/formula. Until this point they will be getting everything they need from the milk you are providing them. Your Health Visitor will be able to advise you on introducing solid foods.
