Breastfeeding your baby can be the most wonderful thing in the world but can also be difficult at times and in Dudley there is some amazing help and support available for you.

Breastfeeding Buddies

The Breastfeeding Buddies are a group of local mum’s who have received Unicef Baby Friendly Standard training to be able to support you to feed your little one/s. They run drop-in groups every weekday across the borough and are on hand to offer you help and information.   The groups are also a great way for you to meet other mums and for your baby to socialise with other babies.  Your health visitor will be able to tell you when and where the groups are meeting so you can go to a venue at a time most suitable for you, or check out the Dudley Health Visitor Facebook page.

Introducing Solid Food

When your little one reaches 6 months you can start introducing  solid foods, as well as carrying on giving breast milk/formula. Until this point they will be getting everything they need from the milk you are providing them. Your Health Visitor will be able to advise you on introducing solid foods.

Start4Life has lots of useful information including the booklets below:

The Baby Buddy App is a virtual friend from Best Beginnings who will take you through your pregnancy to becoming a new parent with bite sized chunks of information for whichever stage you are at.
