Who is a carer?

A carer is someone who looks after a relative, neighbour or friend of any age who has a long term illness, disability or is older and frail. See the links on the right under ‘Related pages’ for more information about how we support carers of adults in Dudley. You can also download our leaflets on the section ‘Related documents’.

If you are a carer of a child or young person aged 18 or below, you will still find much of the information on these pages useful but may also wish to look at the Children with Disabilities Team information.

See Services for Carers from Dudley Council or Services for Carers from other organisations for details of support that is currently available. If you cannot find what you are looking for on these pages, you can email or telephone the council’s Access team on 0300 555 0055.
