Steps for registering a death in Dudley

  • Medical certificate of cause of death will be completed by doctor and sent to registrar, the registrar will then contact the family. The death can then be registered. It must be done within 5 days
  • Registration will be done over the telephone

To ease the process, it’s helpful if you can find the persons birth certificate, marriage or civil partnership certificate and details of any change of names

  • Funeral director will need to be decided before the registration
