International Older People Day

Dudley Council would like to mark International Older People’s Day with a few helpful hints and tips on looking after your health and wellbeing.  Older people are an integral part of the community and contribute so much.  This may be through paid work, volunteering, childcare, being a carer…. the list is endless.  We thank you for all that you do.

Have you tried the following ideas locally to help improve your health and wellbeing and ideas to stay occupied?

Dudley Council health and wellbeing has come up with a few tips to support you to stay healthy.

Try and eat a balanced diet and stay active  to improve your physical and mental wellbeing.   Incorporating some strength and balance exercises is recommended as you get older.  Take care of your teeth and try and get a restful night’s sleep5 ways to wellbeing (connect, be active, give, take notice, learn) – this been identified as simple actions that anyone can take to have a positive impact on their day to day wellbeing. Why not try building on these five actions to see if they can make a difference to your wellbeing.
