Addressing exploitation of children and young people. Working with families affected or at risk of criminal exploitation

We are helping people affected or at risk of: criminal exploitation including; gangs, youth offending, drugs, violence, knife crime and anti-social behaviour.

The Voluntary Sector Innovation Fund is helping us to raise awareness of criminal exploitation within the community, with professionals and individually with young people and families. We provide non-threatening, safe & secure environments for children and young people to talk about these issues and confront fears and worries. We provided awareness training to all professionals within Dudley Borough and for parents and carers. The project brings together the reality of criminal exploitation, 1-1 support for those affected and integrated working with other key agencies within the borough, to identify risk patterns, key areas and gangs/groups of concern.

We are seeing improved emotional health and wellbeing, increased safety, increased awareness of criminal exploitation and individual risk and reduced risk taking.
