With support from the Voluntary Sector Innovation Fund, CHADD (Churches Housing Association of Dudley & District) have been able to develop a housing & homeless Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA). The service is targeting people at risk of domestic abuse. You can find the service at Dudley Council Plus housing and homeless office. It helps people at risk by giving them improved access to a specialist worker. There’s a no appointment necessary drop-in offering immediate assessments to establish domestic advice risk levels. This is done by working out a range of safety options, crisis management & safety planning to reduce risks. The service aims to empower victims to make informed choices that enable positive change at early engagement stages.
