The Innovation Fund is allowing the ‘Second Time Around Shop’ in Halesowen to be refreshed. This is enabling a ‘take what you need’ approach where those in need are provided with a voucher at the local Hope Centre. They can use the voucher in the shop to spend on clothing and other items that they need, avoiding stigma of handouts.
“Changing the shop around is allowing the Hope Centre to provide a meal and gifts for 100 children in need. The funding has helped so much. The shop looks much better and purchasing a new till has made us more efficient, we have a lot more community interest and support.”
The Second Time Around Shop is based in the Cornbow Mall and is open Tuesday to Saturday from 9.30 till 4.30pm.
