Discover U work with clients with a range of learning disabilities and mental health issues, aged 16 + who are currently not engaged in education / employment into employment. Following successfully securing funding from the Innovation Fund Discover U plan to create further opportunities for clients to gain employment.
Discover U will be creating a series of films with members to show to future employers. The films aim to showcase the journey members at Discover U go through, success stories of members who have moved on to other employment / voluntary work in the community and to demystify exactly what learning disabled and mental health means. By creating these films Discover U hope to share with employers what they already know, that this group are capable to play a more active role in the community.
