The Safe Families for Children programme have received funding from the Voluntary Sector Innovation Fund to provide support to vulnerable children and families in Dudley. The Safe Families programme offers an alternative to care through intensive support from volunteers working closely with families as soon as they as they are starting to struggle so reducing the number of children going into short term care. Safe Families volunteers are able to connect with and support vulnerable people giving them hope and enabling children to thrive. The programme provides families with much needed space to deal with pressing issues or build resilience without the children going into care, it provide families support and assistance to get them back on their feet and making their relationships more stable and gives families support and assistance with skills or goods to get back on track.
